As Helveticor AG, we are the first Swiss security logistics company to use hydrogenated vegetable oil for our transportation of valuables. With our largely CO2-neutral fleet, we operate sustainable security logistics and make a significant contribution to Switzerland’s ambitious climate protection agenda.
Sustainable behavior in the areas of environmental, social and corporate governance – ESG for short – has become the number one success factor in most industries. This is also the case in the financial world. Here, not only investment strategies and products, but the value chain as a whole is designed with ESG in mind. We at Helveticor AG, a subsidiary of the Planzer Group, are making great strides in these efforts. We were the first value-added logistics service provider to convert our entire fleet of trucks to hydrogenated vegetable oil and operate our vehicles in a 90% CO2-neutral basis.
HVO100
HVO100 stands for “Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil” and is a renewable and sustainable alternative to conventional diesel. Vegetable oils and fats are converted into fuel through a hydrogenation process. The combustion of HVO100 diesel produces significantly less carbon dioxide and pollutants. This significantly reduces the environmental impact compared to conventional diesel. Thanks to its high cetane number, the biofuel ensures efficient and clean combustion and is also ideal when the thermometer drops far below zero. The special feature: No changes to the engine or special maintenance procedures are required to convert to Neste’s HVO100.
Certification
Since August 1, 2023, we as Helveticor AG have been awarded with the label “Certified CO2 Optimized”. This quality mark for holistic CO2 management is based on international standards and makes it clear: Helveticor applies particularly optimized and environmentally friendly practices to reduce greenhouse gases in the transport business. The label offers credibility, traceability and transparency in climate protection and is clear proof that Helveticor puts its money where its mouth is.
Sustainable on the road
To reduce our CO2 emissions, we not only use HVO100 diesel. We also optimize our routes or use sustainable means of transport and even traditional means of transport. We are happy to provide all information about our efforts here.
