Our current 12% combined HVO100 international fuel surcharge helps reduce our environmental impact while contributing toward a sustainable future. HVO100, which stands for 100% hydrotreated vegetable oil, is an advanced biofuel made from renewable sources. This innovative fuel allows us to significantly minimize our environmental footprint.
ENERGY SURCHARGE
The energy surcharge is calculated based on gas, heating oil, and electricity prices in the Housing & Energy category of the consumer price index (CPI). The CPI is reassessed monthly by the Federal Statistical Office (BFS) based on the data from the previous month.
CONGESTION SURCHARGE
The different zones – white (no congestion), light (low congestion), medium (congestion), and dark (high congestion) – are calculated per zip code based on the traffic congestion map issued annually by the Federal Roads Office. The definition of the zones is valid for the current calendar year. The degree of congestion and congestion zone matrix are adjusted based on the monthly congestion.
SECURITY SURCHARGE
Our current security surcharge of 2.3% helps maintain the security and dependability of our services. The security surcharge also allows us to keep investing in advanced security technologies and infrastructure so that we can detect and mitigate potential threats proactively.
